HN Glance

Hacker News front page on your glasses.

The Hacker News front page, readable at a glance on your G2. Tap a story to see its lead paragraph and the top comments. Swipe up for the full article, and swipe down to keep reading. Ask HN, Show HN, job posts and polls are all included.

Stories, articles and comments refresh every hour. The app has no account, no tracking and no analytics, and it sends nothing about you.

How to use it

• Swipe down / up on the list to move between stories. Swipe up on the first story to refresh.
• Tap a story to open its lead and top comments.
• Swipe up on the first page to read the full article; on its first page, swipe up again to return.
• Swipe down to read on, page by page.
• Double tap to go back to the list.
• Long press to choose 10, 20 or 50 comments, or to refresh.

The dim line at the top of every screen tells you where you are: the score, the page, how fresh the content is, and what swiping up will do.

When something goes wrong

• OFFLINE at the top means you're reading the copy saved on your phone. Swipe up to retry.
• Article blocked / paywalled: some sites refuse automated reading. You still get the comments.
• Anything that takes longer than 20 seconds to load shows a message instead of hanging.
